Ductless HVAC systems are efficient, relatively quick to install, and easy to maintain and operate. Ductless heat pump models also provide both heating and cooling for year–round home comfort in one system Call Wm. Henderson Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Inc. any time if you would like to know more about the benefits of ductless split systems and the models we can install for you.
DUCTLESS SPLIT INSTALLATION SERVICE
Because these systems distribute the air without using air ducts, ductless heating and cooling systemsare an ideal choice for many homeowners who are building an addition and do not wish to install ductwork, or have an older home that does not have ductwork. They are also a good option if your home needs air duct replacements. Ductless split systems are installed as a single outdoor compressor connected to the indoor units through housing that contains the refrigerant tubes and condensate drains.
Many models feature up to four individual air handlers that can be installed in the different rooms of your home, and these units come in a variety of styles and installation options. Because each zone has a separate thermostat, you can save energy and money by turning off the units that are not in use. We can help you choose the model that works for your heating and cooling needs.
Once you choose the model that works for your needs and budget, the technicians at Wm. Henderson Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Inc. will install your new ductless split system in the locations that will provide the most energy efficiency. We can also install the outside compressor in an area that is easy to access for maintenance yet out of the way.
ENERGY SAVINGS WITH DUCTLESS HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS
The energy savings you can get with a ductless split heat pump system can be significant because there’s no air loss through leaks in the air ducts. In addition, you can purchase models that have remote controls for easier temperature control, and we can install a programmable thermostat for each zone so that you can program the unit to turn down when that area is not occupied.

Updates to the Regional HVAC Equipment Efficiency and Testing Standards
Effective January 1, 2023, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will update its efficiency and testing standards for residential and commercial HVAC equipment. All regulatory changes will differ by product type and region. Since the updated standards will result in price increases across all HVAC contractors, now is the time to buy the equipment you need for your home or business.
The minimum efficiency standards for residential and commercial air conditioners and heat pumps manufactured after January 1, 2023, will increase. This change will increase production efficiency and national energy savings while decreasing national energy consumption.
Northern U.S. & Canada
All split-system air conditioners, split-system heat pumps, and packaged units manufactured after January 1, 2023, must meet the updated standards. However, split-system air conditioners, split-system heat pumps, and packaged units manufactured before January 1, 2023, can be installed indefinitely. The efficiency rating for air conditioners will increase from 13 SEER to 15 SEER in these regions.
Split-system air conditioners manufactured before January 1, 2023, can’t be installed once the updated standards take effect. All installations of products that don’t meet the new standards must be completed by December 31, 2022. However, split-system heat pumps, single-packaged air conditioners, and single-packaged heat pumps manufactured after January 1, 2023, can be installed indefinitely. The efficiency rating for air conditioners will increase from 14 SEER to 15 SEER in both the Southwest and Southeast regions.
In addition to higher minimum efficiency standards, the M1 testing procedures used for residential and 3 to 5-ton light commercial, single-phase equipment manufactured on or after January 1, 2023, will increase. This change will produce more accurate SEER, EER, and HSPF efficiency ratings. Manufacturers will be required to re-test equipment using the new M1 Standard requirements as well as publish equipment efficiency ratings using the new efficiency metrics of SEER2, EER2, and HSPF2.
